When Army scientist Bruce Ivins committed suicide last month, it appeared the seven-year-old 9/11 Anthrax in the Mail mystery had been solved.

But over the last few weeks, bloggers have been posting their own theories about whether Ivins was really responsible for the attacks, or a conveniently deceased patsy.... and now the mainstream news services have picked up on it. Kelly Hayboer wrote a great article covering the blogosphere reaction to the Ivins anthrax case here.

Ivins E-mailed Himself About Anthrax Killer

Sept. 25 - Bruce Ivins, the Army scientist accused of carrying out the 2001 anthrax attacks, e-mailed himself last year saying he knew who the killer was. According to an FBI affidavit, the e-mail was dated Sept. 2007.

Bill Maher, host of HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, has been a frequent critic of 9/11 conspiracy theories, stating for instance on the September 14, 2007 edition of Real Time, "Crazy people who still think the government brought down the Twin Towers in a controlled explosion have to stop pretending that I'm the one who's being naïve. How big a lunatic do you have to be to watch two giant airliners packed with jet fuel slam into buildings on live TV, igniting a massive inferno that burned for two hours, and then think, 'well, if you believe that was the cause...' "

On October 19, 2007 Maher had several conspiracy theorist hecklers ejected from his show audience.

On Friday 22nd July 2005, Ian Crane opened the Glastonbury Symposium with an analysis of the sinister geopolitical webs that have been spun, resulting in the tragic events of 9/11 and 7/7.
